The 14 Best Subscriptions Gifts For Mom

Subscription gifts for mom: Where to buy them? You should, as the best gift is one that will keep on giving. Mom probably believes in the “thought counts” philosophy, so you won’t be able to fail as a giver unless you completely forget her birthday. You wouldn’t.

Subscription gifts are fun because they offer variety, surprise and a way to celebrate mom’s role in your life. The good news is that you can do it.

Subscription gifts can be expensive. You might not be able to afford a $50 box for a month, much less three. I searched for the best gift subscription boxes, which would make great gifts for Mother’s Day or birthdays of moms. Unfortunately, inflation makes it nearly impossible to find a subscription box that is cheaper.

Here are 10 beauty subscription boxes for women, plus some more for moms who like to try something new.

Beauty subscriptions for mom

1. Vegancuts Clean Beauty Box

Vegancuts offers a lot of value at a low price. For as little as $25, you can get a box that includes up to $110 of cruelty-free, clean beauty products. You have two options:

  • Monthly only $27.95
  • Three months at $77.85
  • Six months at $149.70

According to my experience with a single box (see video ^^),), the three-month subscription would make a wonderful gift for mom.

Vegancuts is my favorite for a number of reasons. The curation of the products is excellent. The Renew cleanser from Annmarie is a highlight of my box. It is a wonderful product that contains many skin-friendly ingredients, such as organic coconut oil and aloe vera. The box is worth it. The cleanser’s regular price is $23, so it pays for the entire box.

Vegancuts’ website is very transparent, and it shows the collections of the last three months. Look at previous boxes to help you decide whether you want to try Vegancuts for yourself or your mom.

Vegancuts auto-renew so make sure to turn it off if you do not want to receive them.

2. My Little Mascara Club

My Little Mascara Club is the solution to two mascara problems: your expensive tube dries up before it’s finished and your mascara does not stay on your lashes. My Little Mascara Club’s lash formula is packaged in mini tubes that last a month to address the issue of drying out.

A mini tube also has an advantage. A short wand is easier to use than a longer one. You will be able to confirm this by yourself.

In terms of the mascara remaining on your lashes I have never seen a better mascara. Truly. I have spent far too much time cleaning the mascara from my eyeglasses and sunglasses. Also, other parts of my face that don’t have lashes. I had honestly accepted this as an unfortunate side effect of wearing mascara. I was mistaken. This is real stuff.

My Little Mascara also contains no animal products and is vegan.

My Little Mascara Club is available for moms and yourself! You can subscribe to a monthly plan starting at $9, or buy a single-time product. Choose from two mascara formulas and add-ons such as mascara shaping combs and mascara remover. You will receive an email before each refill from a mascara concierge. You can cancel, change your order, skip the refill, or donate it.

3. LookFantastic

LookFantastic, an online luxury beauty retailer from Britain that has been around since the 1990s, is a British company. Shops are known for their freebies and member benefits, so this beauty box fits in perfectly.

For $30, you can purchase one month’s supply of the LookFantastic Beauty Box. You can also buy a year of beauty boxes for mom at $25 per month (that is $300, if you do not want to do the math). The products in the box are listed below along with their prices from other websites:

  • Emma Hardie Plump & Glow Mist (30ml): On Amazon, the 90ml bottle costs $53.99. This translates into $17.90.
  • NEOM PNS Facial Cream Overnight 10ml: A 50ml container costs $50 on NEOM’s website. This size is $10.
  • Amazon: Full-size Wet n Wild Color Icon 10-Pan Shadow Palette (2 shades variations) for $5.
  • Physicians Formula highlighter (3 shades variations): $9 to 12 on Amazon depending on the formula.
  • Amazon sells a three-pack of Invisibobble Original in full-size for $10. That’s $6.66 per two.
  • First Aid Beauty KP Lotion: 28ml equals about 1 oz. Amazon sells KP Smoothing Body Lotion for $4.50 to $4.50 an oz.

According to my informal research, you receive about $55 worth of value for a $30 price. Some of these sizes can’t be purchased. Mom gets to test a product which would cost much more.

LookFantastic subscriptions automatically renew, adding an extra step to gifting. You can send your mom three $30 subscriptions by letting the subscription renew automatically. Then cancel the subscription after the third month. If you forget this step, mom will continue to receive her boxes indefinitely – which is great but bad for your wallet.

Capital One is a great place to get coupon codes. Here’s how.

4. Ipsy Glam bag

Ipsy Glam Bag contains five luxury skincare and makeup samples. You must take a beauty test to sign up. Make sure you are familiar with your mom’s skin color, eye color and hair colour.

You can also sit down together with your mom and take the quiz. Both of you will enjoy the quiz.

Both you and your mom will select the brand, color and frequency of use for specific product types such as cheek color, eyeshadow and eyeliner , as well as the type and color of eyeshadow and eyeliner.

Ipsy Glam Bag costs $13 per month. You can cancel the auto-renewal at any time. Ipsy charges $1.99 per month as a handling charge, so the actual cost of the bag is $14.99.

5. Walmart beauty box

The Walmart Beauty Box is available quarterly for $6.98 plus tax per box.

Walmart’s box, according to users, is an excellent value. It usually includes one full-sized item and at least four sample products. Walmart’s website is vague about the contents of the box, which means that it may not deliver on what was promised.

Walmart has skipped its Summer 2020 box. This is a risk, if you are buying it as a present. After all, you don’t want to rip off mom.

6. Petite Vour

Petite Vour, a retailer that sells cruelty-free cosmetics and beauty products, publishes an ingredient list. These ingredients are cryptic, multi-syllabic compounds like formaldehyde, sodium lauryl sulfate, and methylisothiazolinone. It’s better to avoid it if you can’t say it.

The Petite Vour beauty box offers a subscription-based gift program. This means that you do not have to cancel in order to limit your Mother’s Day expenditure. You have two options:

  • Three months at $63
  • Six Months for Only $126
  • Twelve months for only $216

Each box contains four products that are ethically produced, such as haircare, skincare, or body care. The total value is $60-$100. You can customize the subscription for mom by specifying the color preference, skin type and skin tone.

7. Scentbird

Scentbird is a great option if you are looking for a subscription for an older mother. This gift allows mom to choose her favorite fragrance every month, in an 8mL container that will last for 30 days.

You can purchase a gift subscription by selecting the plan and paying, then providing mom’s email. She will have access to Scentbird catalog, and can choose her own shipments. There are over 500 options.

Scentbird gift boxes are available in:

  • Three months at $48
  • Six Months for $89
  • 12 Months for only $153

8. Facetory Lux

Facetory Lum will ship your giftee 7 K-beauty Sheet Masks for under $20. Note that the regular price for 2023 is $35 but it has been discounted to $19.90. You can choose to subscribe for one, three or six months. This gift subscription box is rated five stars by 38 users.

Facetory sheet masks are great. I have used them in the past. The Sheet Mask allows you to pamper your skin while trying out different K Beauty brands.

9. Glossy Box

GlossyBox is a monthly beauty box that sends five products worth $75. Your cost? $18. The program works as a subscription service that automatically renews each month until you cancel.

GlossyBox does not reveal what is inside the box. However, customers are generally satisfied. GlossyBox received a 4.44 star rating from nearly 800 customers.

GlossyBox is unique in that moms can earn credit for completing surveys or reviewing the products she receives. She can use those credits to purchase Limited Edition boxes at LookFantastic or products.

10. Bombs and bubbles

A mom crate with bath bombs is a great low-maintenance option if you don’t have time to pick out mom’s favorite colors or skin tone. Each shipment contains up to six bath bombs, each of which is a full-sized handmade product. They are also vegan and cruelty-free. Subscribers enjoy the designs and scents.

The bombs and bubbles monthly subscription costs $17.33 and renews itself until you cancel. Set a reminder on your calendar to remind you of the amount you’d like to spend.

Gifts for Mom that are not Beauty Subscriptions

If your mother is not the type to love beauty or has already tried every beauty box, we have a few other options.

1. Delicious Door healthy snack box

This food box is great. This food box solves my biggest problem — how do I eat healthily when I am always on the move? I can plan and make a healthy dinner…but when it’s 3pm and I have four deadlines to meet and my stomach is grumbling louder than my Slack notifications at that time, I reach for what’s convenient. This will probably involve reaching for a bag of potato chip club size.

DeliciousDoor offers a variety of healthy snack options. All the snacks are plant-based and gluten-free. They’re also low in sugar and free from artificial sweeteners and dyes. These tasty and interesting snacks will appeal to any nutrition-conscious mom.

Monthly box options include:

  • A month at $36
  • Three months at $102
  • Six months for only $198
  • Twelve months at $384

Always be on the lookout for auto-renewals. When you have spent all of your budget on gifts, cancel your subscription.

2. Single Cup Club

If your mom is a coffee lover, she’ll love the Monthly Single Cup Club subscription box. Each month, she receives 15 K-cups with a selection of medium, light and dark roasts. Each box contains three different blends and one flavor of coffee from artisan roasters.

You can choose to give a gift of one month at $14.99 or three months at $11.65 per month. Six months are $10.49 and 12 months cost $9.92. These subscriptions are not gift-based, but they do automatically renew.

3. Cloth & Paper

Ah, the lost arts of handwritten notes and planners. Help her get organized by sending her the Cloth & Paper Monthly Shipment, which includes up to 7 writing tools. She may receive premium pens or brush pens.

Subscribe for one month at $21.95 per month or for three months at $20 per month. Don’t forget to cancel or disable auto-renewal!

4. Spice Madam

Spice Madam is a box of culinary spices that will delight foodies and party planners. Each shipment contains spices and blends from the featured destination along with six recipes for up to eight people. She’ll get a themed playlist as well.

Subscribe for one or three months at $25 per box. Six-month and 12-month plans have a slight discount, with monthly prices of $23.33 and 20 cents respectively. Like most subscription gifts, these are set to automatically renew. During checkout, look for an option to disable auto-renewal.
